During Saturday’s IGN Fan Fest event, a teaser was released for the second season of the Tower of God anime. The second season is confirmed to be streamed by anime streaming platform giant Crunchyroll in the following regions: Central America, North America, South America, Oceania, Africa, the Middle East and CIS territories.
Japanese voice actor Taichi Ichikawa presented the video during the said event. The anime is scheduled to premiere in July.
The first seasons of Tower of God premiered on April 2020 on Crunchyroll and also premiered in Japan on the same day, airing for a total of 13 episodes. This is a Crunchyroll and WEBTOON production and is part of the latter’s Crunchyroll Originals lineup.
The story of Tower of God is described by Crunchyroll as follows:
“Reach the top, and everything will be yours. At the top of the tower exists everything in this world, and all of it can be yours. You can become a god. This is the story of the beginning and the end of Rachel, the girl who climbed the tower so she could see the stars, and Bam, the boy who needed nothing but her.”
The anime is based on the popular manhwa of the same name created by SIU. It was first published on NAVER WEBTOON in 2010, then it was later officially released in English by WEBTOON inn July 2014.
Sengoku Basara: End of Judgement director Takashi Sano was the director of the season over at Telecom Animation Film. Hirokazu Hanai was credited as the first season’s assistant director. Erika Yoshida did the series composition for the anime’s first season. Masashi Kudo and Miho Tanino were credited as character designers. The series’ music was composed by Kevin Penkin.
Tower of God Release Date
As of this time, there is still no official date mentioned during the event. However, since Crunchyroll will still be streaming the series, then there’s a possibility that we would have an exact streaming release date very soon.
