Plotline
With The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 returning later in October with Part 2 of the College Arc, Crunchyroll has provided the following sneak peek at the first half of the next season:
“Chise was able to accept Elias and herself, if not necessarily everything about her situation. After Cartaphilus fell back into a slumber that would not last forever, Chise was able to go back to her regular life. Then she receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages called the College. Under the British Library exists a secret society of mages. Encounters and interactions with people are about to open some new doors. This is a story about saving yourself to save another.”
The Ancient Magus’ Bride Manga
The Ancient Magus’ Bride is based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki. It first began publication in 2013’s Monthly Comic Blade of Mag Garden before switching to Monthly Comic Garden in 2014’s issue. 24 episodes of a WIT Studio adaptation were aired as an anime in 2017. The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star OVA, ran from 2016 to 2017 with a total of 3 episodes. It served as the series’ prequel before the launch.
The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm, a brand-new OAD (original disc animation) series, debuted in 2021. The original ensemble still makes an appearance, despite the emphasis on new characters. For the three-part OVA, Studio Kafka took over, with Kazuaki Terasawa serving as director. The third and last episode, the 18th Volume, is expected to be released on September 9 and was included with special editions of all the manga volumes that were recently released.
