Solo Leveling Release Date
The announcement of the Solo Leveling adaptation was revealed at Anime Expo 2022 which was held in July. It was seven months after the Manhwa version concluded in December 2021 with 179 chapters.
It was a no-brainer that Solo Leveling would be the next Manhwa to be animated after the popularity of its predecessor the God of High School and Tower of God. Even after half a year, the series still sits in the top action genre on KakaoPage, its official publishing site, with 15.8 million readers.
After waiting for almost a year since the announcement, the official Twitter of Solo Leveling revealed a new voiceless teaser on March 21, 2023. It stated that Solo Leveling anime will be coming next winter of 2024. You can watch the series later on Crunchyroll.
Trailer and Key Visual
The trailer was released on YouTube on July 4, 2023, after being revealed at Anime Expo 2023 a day before. Unlike the teaser, this PV includes voiced characters as well. Finally, the official released the list of VA for the series.
We can expect great visual animation for the series mainly because the PV doesn’t show bad CGI for the monsters. Though to be fair, the PV doesn’t show that much battle animation. But, looking at the A-1 Pictures’ record, you can expect the quality to be high.
The official website of Solo Leveling Anime posted the new key visual on March 21, 2023. It shows the re-awakened Sung Jin-Woo lying on top of the altar. If the anime follows the manhwa precisely, this act will be in the first episode of the series.

The full main cast was released at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo panel on July 3, 2023. Later, the official website released the PV which contains the information. The main VA includes:
Nakashige Shunsuke (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama, Sword Art Online). Kimura Noboru (Princess Principal the Movie) is in charge of writing the series composition.
Sudou Tomoko (Alice in Borderland) is responsible for drawing character design and Sawano Hiroyuki (Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn) is composing the music.
Solo Leveling Story
The world is in peril because of the appearance of “gates” decades ago. Each gate leads to another world full of monsters. To make it worse, these monsters are immune to damage from modern weaponry.
Fortunately, humans who can use supernatural abilities appear throughout the world. We call them “hunters”. They are responsible to keep the gates in check to avoid dungeon break.
There is a clear ranking in the hunter community and Sung Jin-Woo is called the weakest hunter ever. His luck is getting worse when he is fatally injured in the high-ranking dungeon inside the low-ranking dungeon.
In his death door, the mysterious window quest pop-up in front of his face, and quickly accept the quest. Now, he has the ability to level up while other hunters can’t.
