On August 18, 2023, Japan will premiere the film version of the renowned manga SAND LAND by Akira Toriyama. A 60-second trailer and new information about the upcoming movie, including the all-star voice cast and the crew working behind the scenes!
The next 3DCG anime movie SAND LAND, based on the action novel by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z), debuted its action-packed new teaser on June 20. The clip also unveiled the music that will serve as the movie’s official theme song: “NIGHT DANCER” by Imase.

On Friday, the team behind the anime adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s SAND LAND manga presented a full 90-second video. The theme tune “Utopia” by upcoming artist Imase is announced and previewed in the trailer:
After posting “Night Dancer” and other songs he had written online, the musician Imase’s popularity increased inside and outside Japan. Wrote the song “Utopia” especially for SAND LAND, making it his debut theme song for a movie.
He was born a week following the first Sand Land manga volume shipment on November 2, 2000. And made light of the fact that while the main character Beelzebub is 2,500 years old and he is just 22 years old, they are peers.
He continued by saying that since he has been a fan of Dragon Ball since he was a little child, collaborating on another Toriyama project was like a dream come true.
Sand Land Anime Cast and Staff
At Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima, Toshihisa Yokoshima (“Tales of Crestoria: The Wake of Sin,” “Amanatsu,” “Cocolors,” and Dragon Quest game sequences”) is helming the picture with Hiroshi Koujina (“Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis,””The Vampire Dies in No Time,” and “Grenadier”) serving as the directorial advisor.
Screenwriter Hayashi Mori (Cells at Work! Code Black, Drifting Home) wrote the film’s script. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Psycho-Pass, and Ajin composer Ygo Kanno are in charge of the sound design, and Yoshikazu Iwanami is in charge of the music.
TOHO will open the film in theaters in Japan on August 18. Meanwhile, the voice cast includes:
