The fourth installment of the Rascal Does Not Dream series is in sight, Only one month left before we can watch the premiere of the movie entitled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl.
The hype for the third movie is through the roof. Though, it is kinda expected because the news itself has been around for a year. Moreover, the last movie which is about Sakuta’s little sister earned 1.28 million USD and sold 118 thousand tickets in just three days, which means fans are eager to see the continuation of the Hajime Kamoshida’s Rascal Does Not Dream.
It is confirmed that Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl will premiere on December 1, 2023, all over Japan. Unfortunately, there are at least three months’ time lag before the movie can be watched outside of Japan.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl Trailer
The Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl trailer was released on October 22, 2023. Just like the previous movie, the trailer also tells the plot of the third movie. This time, instead of one problem, Sakuta has to deal with two problems at hand.
The first one is when his father calls him and says that his mother wants to meet them again. For the record, his mother left the house two years ago because she couldn’t bear Kaede’s condition from repeated bullying.
Meanwhile, everything seems to be fine with Mai Sakurajima’s graduation ceremony. Yet, it comes downhill thereafter. Mai’s puberty syndrome seems to affect Sakuta. Now, no one can sense his presence, not even his family. To make the mystery worse, he meets a little girl who looks like Mai Sakurajima before she becomes a child actress.
The entire movie will cover the ninth volume of the Rascal Does Not Dream series. The light novel was published back in October 2018 in Japan. Yen Press published the English version of the book in December 2022.
On the other hand, the movie still uses the renowned ending from the first season, Fukashigi no Karte. Unlike the previous movie, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, this movie will use all heroines’ versions as the base of the music.
As for the staff, all of them are reprising their position from the previous movies. Soichi Masui is directing the movie at CloverWorks. Masahiro Yokotani is writing the script while Satomi Tamura is designing the character.

The key visual for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Girl was released on September 10, 2023. This will be the third visual in the series which is showing a grown Mai Sakurajima for the first time.
The visual of the series shows two figures of Mai at different ages. While Sakuta seems to walk with a little Mai on the sandy beach, his gaze is staring at a grown-up Mai. With the tagline “Can’t you see me?”, it is clearly said that this movie will focus on Mai’s power of being invincible.

March has arrived, so there is only one month left in the third semester. It’s time for Mai’s graduation. Yet, when the time definitely changes, Sakuta mysteriously meets a little girl who appears like Mai did before she became a child actress.
