On Wednesday, Atlus revealed that Persona 3 Reload is set to receive an Expansion Pass, extending to platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 11 PC, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. The first wave of new content is slated for release this month. This pass will have three content drops, highlighted by a substantial post-ending DLC introducing Episode Aigis -The Answer-.
The initial release will introduce the Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Set and the Persona 4 Golden EX BGM Set, offering players additional tracks from both games to enhance their dungeon exploration. These sets are scheduled for release on March 12.
Following that, in May, the Velvet Costume & BGM Set will be launched, featuring Velvet Room-themed costumes and music tracks.
Episode Aigis -The Answer- comprises content originally featured in Persona 3 FES as a post-game epilogue, allowing players to assume control of Aigis. Atlus plans to release this post-game DLC in September.
Persona 3 Reload made its debut on February 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Windows and Steam. It was also available on Xbox Game Pass upon its initial release.
The new game introduces a revamped battle system compared to the original Persona 3, alongside “cutting-edge graphics and gameplay,” a remastered soundtrack, and enhanced audio with all-new English voice-over.
Persona 3 is a Japanese role-playing video game developed by Atlus and originally released for the PlayStation 2 console in 2006. The game, part of the larger Shin Megami Tensei series, garnered significant acclaim for its innovative gameplay mechanics and engaging narrative.
Set in modern-day Japan, Persona 3 follows the protagonist, a high school student, as they navigate both the challenges of daily life and the mysterious “Dark Hour,” a hidden period of time that exists between one day and the next. During the Dark Hour, monstrous creatures known as Shadows roam the streets, threatening humanity. To combat these threats, the protagonist and their classmates join a group called SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad) to explore Tartarus, a towering labyrinthine structure that appears during the Dark Hour, and battle the Shadows using manifestations of their inner selves known as Personas.
The game received critical acclaim for its compelling storyline, well-developed characters, and unique blend of social simulation and dungeon-crawling gameplay. It also introduced several new elements to the Persona series, including the Social Link system, which allows players to build relationships with various characters, strengthening their abilities in battle.
This game served as inspiration for a four-part anime film series that premiered between 2013 and 2016.
