CAPCOM unveiled a fresh teaser trailer showcasing the forthcoming Street Fighter 6 DLC character Akuma during Day 2 of the live-streamed “CAPCOM Highlights” event on Monday. Akuma is set to join the game this spring as the ultimate addition to the Year 1 Character Pass.
In addition to joining the roster, Akuma will make his debut in the World Tour mode, featuring new missions and an exclusive arena. As part of the update, characters included in the Year 1 Character Pass will also receive their Outfit 3 costumes upon Akuma’s arrival.
Street Fighter 6, which initially launched last June, is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.A noteworthy addition to the game is the real-time commentary feature, offering insights from renowned fighting game community commentators throughout the match. Subtitles for the commentary are available in 13 languages, featuring commentators such as Thea Trinidad (also known as Zelina Vega), Vicious, Aru, Japanese commentator and caster KÅsuke Hiraiwa, and Sekima II band frontman Demon Kakka (formerly Demon Kogure).Among the returning characters in the game are Ryu, Chun-li, and Luke, who is the final playable DLC character for Street Fighter V. Joining the franchise for the first time is Jamie, a breakdancing kickboxer. The game’s launch roster also includes an array of characters such as Manon, Kimberly, Marisa, Lily, JP, Juri, Dee Jay, Cammy, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Zangief, and Dhalsim.The initial batch of DLC characters introduced Rashid, A.K.I. (a new character), Ed, and Akuma in spring 2024. Players have the option to purchase characters individually or acquire them all through a season pass. Additionally, new costumes for 18 characters became available for purchase on December 1.
