On the Pokemon Presents stream on Tuesday (February 27 is Pokemon Day), The Pokemon Company International officially announced the upcoming game for the Nintendo Switch titled Pokemon Legends Z-A to be launched in 2025.

The video shows an urban development plan of Lumoise City, which is “a vision of beautiful coexistence between people and Pokémon.” The city is located I nthe Kalos region in the original Pokemon X/Y games released for the Nintendo 3Ds years ago. The game’s new logo which features the letters “Z-A” matches the colors of the sixth generation legendary Pokemon Zygarde. The way the game is teased in the trailer was similar to the Pokemon Legends: Arceus game featured the history of the Sinnoh region in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl games.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y was released for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2013 worldwide. It is so far the only games in the series that never received a third version or direct sequel in the latest Nintendo consoles. Fans had mixed opinions over this and hoping that a direct sequel for the game will finally be released after Z-A.
The Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. The game takes you into the Hisui region, which is the passed version of the Sinnoh region from the original Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games. In this edition of the game, players are able to ride Pokemon, create items, and will be vulnerable to Pokemon attacks while exploring around the feed. This is also the version of the Pokemon game franchise where players are introduced to the photography function as well as trainer customization.
The Pokemon video game series began with the releases of Pokemon Red and Green for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996. Pokemon Blue was also released the same year. This then expanded to multiple sequels and games under the franchise.
