Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Official Trailer Revealed

Tons of new information is flooding thanks to the AnimeJapan 2023 event. Now, it’s Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen that released a new set of information. Though some information was leaked a day before the event was held (i.e. new visual), it doesn’t come close to the actual main dish, the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Official Trailer.

Below, we have gathered new information related to the upcoming season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Let’s dig in!

Jujutsu Kaisen Second Season Release Date

Looking back, the official released the announcement of the second season on February 12, 2022. That time, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie was aired in theaters and it got huge positive responses among fans.

After a year of waiting, the staff has released the exact date of the premiere. Jujutsu no Kaisen Second Season will debut on July 6, 2023.

Shouta Goshozono is replacing Sung Hoo Park as the director at Studio MAPPA. Do note that Shouta was responsible for directing the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen on episodes 8 and 17.

At the same time, they introduced more voice actors. Though the trailer already revealed a few characters only two additional casts were unveiled. They are:

Anna Nagase as Riko Amanai
Takehito Koyasu as Toji Fushiguro

Jujutsu Kaisen is planning to attend MAPPA Stage 2023 on May 21, 2023. There should be new information leaked at that time. Just stay tuned!

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Official Trailer and Visual

It’s not MAPPA if they don’t create edgy PV. Looking at the trailer, we can see that the second season will be up to a high standard.

The PV shows the story of Satoru Gojo when he was in his student days at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. The relationship between Geto Suguru and Gojo has been foreshadowed in the prequel film from a year ago. Though they appear as an enemy, once, Geto is the closest friend of the strongest sorcerer, Gojo Satoru.

But the twisted personality of Geto is nowhere in sight in the flashback story. We can assume that the second season will start by filling the empty block left by the prequel movie.

The visual trailer was leaked a day before AnimeJapan 2023 was held. It shows five characters Gojo Satoru, Suguru Geto, Amanai Riko (a high school girl), her guardian, and Touji Fushigurou (Megumi’s father).

If you think about it, the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen is moving backward. The movie is a prequel to the first season and, now, the second season is the prequel to the movie.

But rest assured, this arc will be one of two arcs that will span two cour. So, the timeline will be on track again after we know how the relationship of this, seemed, best friend turns sour.

As usual, Crunchyroll is streaming the series. From the previous record, the second season may have an English dub presented not long after its premiere.
