Fairy Tail is undoubtedly one of the most popular Shounen Jump series in history. Sure enough, they are still a bit short for the creme of the crop like Naruto and One Piece, but they can stand alongside them. After ending their original story in 2018, they are back for the sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.
We’ve gathered the information surrounding the sequel below including the main cast and staff, promotional video, teaser visuals, and release date. Let’s dive in!
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Release Date
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest was once announced back at the Hiro Mashima Fan Meeting live-streaming event on September 11, 2021. Back then, the fans were in uproar knowing that the sequel created by Hiro Mashima and Atsuo Ueda would get an anime adaptation. However, the hype slowly quieted down because there was no new information for almost three years.
Fortunately, we can get the official announcement this year. Avex Pictures created an official website revealing the main staff and cast, five teaser visuals, and a PV.
There isn’t much information that can be dug from the PV because it’s just a bunch of pictures of five main characters. At least, we can get the release date for the series. It is confirmed that the anime sequel will premiere in July 2024.

The official website has spilled the list of the main cast and staff for Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. The cast from the prequel will reprise their role. They include:

As for the staff of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, some of them will return but we can expect a slight change in the art and animation. Toshinori Watanabe is directing (Tokyo Ghoul:re) the anime at J.C. Staff under the supervision of Shinji Ishihira (Edens Zero) as chief director.
Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pokemon: Mezase Pokemon Master) returns to oversee the series composition. Yurika Sako (Edens Zero) is in charge of character design while Yasuhara Takanashi (Fairy Tail) is composing the music for the series.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Story
In the world of Fairy Tail, there is a highly difficult mission that is borderline impossible. Countless mages have attempted to accomplish it for over a century yet none can complete it. Thus, the missions get the moniker of 100 Years Quest.
Nonetheless, Natsu Dragneel and his friends – Lucy, Erza, Grey, and Wendy, along with two exceeds Happy and Carla – take the challenge. Their mission is to seal the Five Dragon Gods which every individual holds the power to destroy the world.
After witnessing their struggle to defeat Zeref and Acnologia, can they accomplish the mission that no one can? Let’s watch their adventure to the new continent, Guiltina!
