Demon Slayer Season 4 Trailer and Release Date
Demon Slayer just released its annual Promotional Reel on December 10, 2023. The first minute only includes the flashback of the Demon Slayer project from 2019 to 2023. Unfortunately, unlike the Promotional Reel 2023, the teaser trailer for the fourth season is still soundless and just the introduction to all eight Hashiras.
The next announcement stated that the first episode of Demon Slayer Season 4 will have a one-hour special like the previous seasons. The advanced screening will surpass the previous world tour record that had 1800 screens. This time, they will hold the event in over 140 countries and regions starting on February 2, 2024, in Tokyo. They confirmed that Demon Slayer Season 4 will premiere in Spring 2024. However, the exact date is still TBA.
Other than the annual Promotional Reel, Demon Slayer also held a live viewing event “Kimetsu TV – THE WORLD” which started two hours after the reel premiered. Aniplex USA premiered it with English subtitles. Six cast members were present at the event including Natsuki Hanae, Akari Kitou, Hiro Shimono, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kengo Kawanishi, and Saori Hayami.
Although they mainly discussed the promotional reel, they also made some new announcements. The first one is the event commemorating the fifth anniversary of Demon Slayer anime will be held on March 9-10, 2024, at Mkuhari Messe, Chiba. Further information will be revealed at a later date.
The second one is the new announcement of a new game entitled “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board!”. It is a 4-player game for Nintendo Switch which will debut on April 25, 2024. Instead of using the same concept as the previous game, this game emphasizes a bunch of mini-games that can be enjoyed casually.
Demon Slayer Season 4 Cast and Staff
To this point, all of the cast of Demon Slayer Season 4 has been announced. Moreover, the next arc will focus on eight Hashiras who appeared in the first season of the anime series. For the sake of refreshing memory, here are the list of cast:
- Natsuki Hanae as Tanjirou Kamado
- Akari Kito as Nezuko Kamado
- Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira

- Kenichi Suzumura as Obanai Iguro

The staff stays the same as in the first season of Demon Slayer. Haruo Sotozaki is coming back to serve as the director at Ufotable. Meanwhile, Akira Matsushima once again works as a character designer and also serves as chief animation director.
What to Expect in Demon Slayer Season 4?
The previous Demon Slayer ended its last episode with a bang. On one side, the scene where Tanjiro has to choose between ending the demon or saving his sister is heartbreaking. On the other hand, his choice turns out to be the best because Nezuko can overcome the sunlight.
It really makes this scene a stepping stone for the next conflict between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan Kibutsuji. Now, the next mission is very clear for the corps, protect Nezuko from Muzan. Thus, the entire organization decided to hold a group training hosted by eight high-ranking members known as Hashira.
But, what will Demon Slayer Season 4 turn out? We know that it will bring Hashira training arc to life. However, the whole arc only consists of 9 chapters of the manga. Meanwhile, the previous Swordsmith Village has 30 chapters and the Entertainment District has 31 chapters. Moreover, with a one-hour special episode, we can expect the whole arc will have less than 6 episodes based on its source material.
It is a different matter if they adapt the first stage of the Infinity Castle arc. If they do that, the cliffhanger will be unbearable. The other viable option is to adapt Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer Gaiden or a Spin-off. But, will they give a filler in this later stage?
Well, there is no choice but to wait for further information. To be fair, they haven’t released a total episode yet. Maybe we will have a full 24 episodes where we can enjoy half of the Infinity Castle arc.
Conclusion
Demon Slayer is undoubtedly one of the best demon anime. It has a simple storyline with a few plot twists which makes this series easy to swallow. What makes this anime memorable is of course thanks to studio Ufotable as the one who works on it. Regarded as the best animation studio in a visual context, they succeeded in elevating the hype of this series to this point.
