Kadokawa streamed a trailer for Studio Trigger’s anime adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon on Thursday. The trailer revealed the main cast and staff. In addition, Kadokawa unveiled a fresh teaser image and the show’s January 2024 launch date.
Since February 2014, Kui’s original manga series has been available in Harta magazine from Enterbrain. It consists of 12 volumes and 94 chapters. Kadokawa Future Publishing is a subsidiary that includes the Enterbrain publishing label.
Kadokawa is in charge of distribution for the Delicious in Dungeon teaser video. The show is a unique blend of comedy and fantasy seinen, which could make for some excellent storylines.

As previously announced, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, Kadokawa started broadcasting the teaser video for Delicious in Dungeon. Sadly, the trailer did not provide a complete official release date; it just provided a release window beginning in January 2024.
It was also announced that Studio Trigger, widely known for their work on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Kill la Kill, will be animating the series.
Delicious in Dungeon Cast and Staff
The animation at Trigger is under the direction of Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon movie, SSSS.Gridman episode director). The series texts are being overseen by Kimiko Ueno (The Royal Tutor, Chimimo, Eternal Boys).
The character designs are being handled by Naoki Takeda (chief animation director for BNA: Brand New Animal), and the soundtrack is being handled by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, Black Butler: Book of Circus).
The anime’s main cast includes:
- Kentaro Kumagai as Laios
- Sayaka Senbongi as Marcille
- Asuna Tomaro as Chilchuck
- Hiroshi Naka as Senshi
The teaser video has all four of them, as well as a major image of them, gathered together and participating in a large feast in what looks to be a dungeon. The staff has also opened an official English Twitter account for the anime and official hashtag #deliciousindungeon.
Delicious in Dungeon Plot

“What do you get when you cross dungeon adventures and food manga? You get Delicious in Dungeon, where we find our troupe of adventurers on a mission to save their lost team member while figuring out how to survive on the food that the dungeon provides.
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions. They’re eager to get right back to it, but there’s just one problem: if they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to eat it on the way!
But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, mimics, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!”
Delicious in Dungeon Manga
Kadokawa published the manga’s 12th collected volume in August 2022 after Kui debuted it in Kadokawa’s Harta magazine in February 2014. In September 2021, the 11th book made clear that the series’ conclusion was approaching.
Also, in the years 2016 and 2019, the manga received nominations for the ninth and twelfth Manga Taisho Awards, respectively. The collection topped the list of the top 20 manga for male readers published by Kono Manga ga Sugoi! in 2016.
Besides, in Da Vinci magazine’s 2015 comic rankings, the manga came in at number 13, and more recently, at number 35 in 2020. In September 2019, Studio Trigger will release a 30-second animated ad to promote the manga’s eighth volume.
