Crunchyroll made an announcement today, revealing their plans to simulcast the eagerly anticipated television anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan manga. Set to air in Japan this October, fans worldwide can rejoice as they’ll be able to follow the action-packed saga same time as Japan through Crunchyroll’s platform. The anime slated to air in October.
The anime streaming platform describes the show as follows:
“This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.
To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?

The stellar cast of the upcoming anime adaptation includes:
- Shion Wakayama, who will lend her voice to the spirited protagonist, Momo Ayase.
- Natsuki Hanae, taking on the role of the enigmatic Okarun.
- Mayumi Tanaka, known for her dynamic performances, will voice the eccentric character Turbo-Granny.
- Kazuya Nakai, bringing his talent to the table as the voice of the mysterious Alien Serpo.
Behind the scenes, Fūga Yamashiro, renowned for his work as assistant director on Tatami Time Machine Blues, assumes the directorial helm at Science SARU. Meanwhile, the esteemed Hiroshi Seko, with an impressive portfolio including Attack on Titan The Final Season, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mob Psycho 100, takes on the role of supervisor and scriptwriter.
Adding depth and emotion to the series’ atmosphere is composer Kensuke Ushio, celebrated for his work on Chainsaw Man, DEVILMAN crybaby, and Liz and the Blue Bird. The character designs come to life under the skillful hand of Naoyuki Onda, known for his contributions to Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and Berserk: The Golden Age Arc, while Yoshimichi Kameda, recognized for his work on Mob Psycho 100, takes charge of designing the aliens and supernatural entities, promising a visually stunning and diverse array of characters.
Yukinobu Tatsu’s captivating manga, serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service, has garnered widespread acclaim, with the 13th volume released on January 4 and the eagerly awaited 14th volume scheduled for release on April 4.
