On Tuesday, the third promotional trailer for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Urusei Yatsura by Rumiko Takahashi went up. Additional cast members and new theme song composers were also disclosed by the staff.
The second season of the anime will feature Aoi Yki as Ten. Shigeru Chiba portrays Ryunosuke’s father, while Ayahi Takagaki plays Ryunosuke Fujinami.
What’s the Plot in the Series?
Urusei Yatsura tells the tale of Ataru Moroboshi, the most unfortunate and lewd young man alive. At random, the aliens choose Ataru to defend his planet by participating in a game of tag, which is the aliens’ national sport, when they decide to invade Earth.
The world will be rescued if he triumphs. As it turns out, Ataru is playing against Lum, a curvy extraterrestrial princess, so his motivations are even less admirable. The game lasts for ten days, and on the tenth day, Ataru eventually captures Lum thanks to his lover promising him marriage (and, one assumes, a marriage night) if he wins.
However, after winning, he shouts in pleasure at his impending marriage, which Lum interprets as a marriage proposal. She immediately consents, starting their “marriage” together.
