According to recent rumors, the Captain Tsubasa anime will return for a new season in 2023 and adapt the Junior Arc of the manga. Viz Media has obtained the rights to the newest anime series.
In October 2023, the TV Tokyo network in Japan will debut Captain Tsubasa Season 2: Junior Youth Arc, a new TV anime series based on Yoichi Takahashi’s hugely popular soccer-themed sports manga. The fourth TV anime that ran from 2018 to 2019 will have a sequel.

Ayaka Fukuhara plays Taro Misaki, Yuuichirou Umehara plays Ken Wakashimazu, Takuya Satou plays Kojirou Hyuuga, and Kenichi Suzumura plays Genzo Wakayabashi. Tsubasa Ozora, the main character, will be played once more by Yuuko Sanpei.
