Being one of the top seinen anime series in Japan, Bungou Stray Dogs just finished its fifth season in the summer of last year. It is surreal how Kafka Asagiri’s work maintains the same quality over five-season TV anime that span eight years.
But, seeing that this famous anime has caught up with the manga, we can expect the next season will have to wait for several years. However, it doesn’t mean the series will stop promoting the work.
In reality, Kadokawa just announced eight special projects to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the Bungou Stray Dogs anime series. For the record, the anime adaptation premiered on Japanese television on April 7, 2016. So, what do the projects entail? Read on!
Bungou Stray Dogs Eighth Anniversary
The official website of Bungou Stray Dogs revealed the 8th anime anniversary project on March 7, 2024. The first batch of the fun project is already being revealed along with the logo for the anniversary celebration project.
The first project “Eighth Anniversary Commemorative Memoirs with Animate International” will begin on April 7, 2024, to April 6, 2025. Throughout that one-year span, the Animate store will reprint the seasonal illustration of Bungou Stray Dogs and sell it as commemorative memorial goods. What makes it different from the first batch is that time-limited items will display the eighth-anniversary logo on it.
The second project is the “RED TOKYO TOWER collaboration”. The project will begin on April 19, 2024, to May 26, 2024. The event will feature items and beautiful illustrations referring to the Sky Casino arc in the anime. The tickets for the events will be available for purchase on March 22.
The third project is the “Tobu Zoo” collaboration” which starts on July 13, 2024. Like the first project, this one will have a one-year span.
The fourth project, “First Avenue Tokyo Station B1 Event Space Ichiban Plaza & Hotel New Otani Collaboration”, will begin on August 9, 2024. The projects will involve the selling of Bungou Stray Dogs’ wide selection of exclusive merchandise in a pop-up store and reserving a concept room to enjoy the stay in the hotel.
Unfortunately, the rest of the commemorative projects are still TBA. Kadokawa promised to announce it at a later date. A special page for “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” has been made and they will update the information on it.
