The title of a brand-new animation from studio MAPPA, directed by Hiroko Utsumi, is BUCCHIGIRI (Bucchigiri?!). In addition to a trailer and teaser image, the anime will debut in January 2024. Accordingly, the announcement occurred in the middle of MAPPA STAGE 2023.

Basically, the two main protagonists, Araji Tomobishi and his companion Mataka Asamine, are depicted in the one-minute teaser. There are also many additional unknown characters visible.
Also, observe how graffiti is all over the structures, alleyways, and hallways of the school. A ghost that resembles a genie eventually arrives just after the title. The Arabic lettering on the stairs, the pistol in the film, and the background music all clearly draw inspiration from “The Arabian Nights” or other similar tales.

BUCCHIGIRI?! Anime Plot
I’m absolutely adding this anime to my list just out of interest. ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ also comes to mind when I look at the color scheme.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much information available on the plot, although it appears that there will at the very least be gang fights.
